The Black Swamp Arts Festival is important to our sense of place and to our community spirit. That is why it is with heavy hearts we announce that the Black Swamp Arts Festival is postponed until September 10, 11, & 12, 2021.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we were planning a great festival with an additional evening of art on Friday. After thorough research and analysis, we have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to guarantee the health and safety of our guests and volunteers.
We love the festival and volunteer all year to make it happen, but the health and safety of our community is paramount.
All artists who have applied will receive a full return of their fees.
The Festival Committee is eagerly looking forward to next year when we can celebrate live music and great art together. Until then, we will continue to support and promote the arts in our community, and we are already planning a fantastic Black Swamp Arts Festival for September 10, 11, & 12, 2021.
Be well, be safe, and support the arts.

The Mission of the Black Swamp Arts Festival:
To connect art and the community by presenting an annual arts festival and by promoting the arts in the Bowling Green community.
The Black Swamp Arts Festival’s purpose is to:
- provide programming that celebrates the Arts
- provide opportunities for artists
- foster pride and involvement in our community
- develop an audience for the arts
This is our "Why." Why we volunteer work to put on a free arts and music festival. It's for us all, our families, our visitors, and friends. Arts for our culture, community, and future.
Volunteer on the year-round committees. The festival doesn’t magically appear. Okay, it kinda does, but we need lots of great community-builders to make magic with us.
